How we are designed? The VBOC program is designed to provide transitioning service members, Veterans, National Guard, and Reserve members, and military spouses entrepreneurial development services such as business training, counseling and resource partner referrals to start or grow a small business. The SBA has multiple organizations located across the nation participating in this network and facilitating Boots to Business (B2B) and Reboot training to transitioning service members, Veterans, National Guard, and Reserve members, and military spouses.
Aquila Bernard, President
Aquila Bernard honorably served in the United States Army from 2004 – 2012. She was stationed in Hawaii, Virginia and Washington State. She served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and also did a tour in Kuwait.
She holds a Master’s in Business Administration with an Undergrad in Finance and Accounting from the Saint Martin’s University. She is an Disabled Army Veteran, therefore she understands the struggles with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.
Her husband is still on active duty and she committed to helping military spouses find employment and help new military spouses understand the military lifestyle.
She has worked in various fields throughout the private sector, even owning her own retail beauty supply store She’s Beauty Store, Inc. She is the founder and creator of the app, Quick Friends. She has also worked in the Federal government as a Human Resources Specialist and has extensive knowledge of recruitment and placement for the General Schedule pay plan, Senior Executive Service, Political Appointee, and beyond.
As the President of The Battle Buddy System, she is dedicated to helping veterans, spouses, and budding entrepreneurs receive optimal training and information for loans and coaching to better themselves, so they can understand how to make the best choice when it comes to their business needs.
Danielle Singley, Vice President
“Being from Chicago, I have been inspired by the arts and the amazing wonders that are born from love of my city. My name is Danielle Singley and I spent 20 years serving my country and now it is time to continue by serving my family and my community.
I have joined forces with the Battle Buddy System, in hopes to combining my budding businesses in the party planning and interior design communities which will be extended to Military and Veteran families. I will be helping those who have served by going into their most sacred place, their homes, and creating a space they love coming home to everyday. I am also looking forward to helping people create special events for lasting memories.
I recently earned my Associates working towards a Bachelors in Interior Design. I am a wife of an active duty Chief Warrant Officer and a mom of three amazing children.”
Ronald Bernard, Secretary
Ronald Bernard hails from Philadelphia, PA and holds an Associates degree and Culinarian Certification from the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2004, and his duties have taken him to: Schwetzingen, Germany; Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA; Joint Base Myers-Henderson Hall, VA and U.S. Southern Command in Miami, FL. He has been on two deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and once to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Also he has toured to Kuwait in support of Timber Sycamore.
Bernard’s military accomplishment runs the gamut with accomplishments in the culinary world like being invited to cooking in support of the: 45th Presidential Inauguration, Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors ( T.A.P.S) annual gala, Blue Star Families annual gala, Sky Ball award Gala, Gary Sinise Foundation, Robert Irvine Foundation. He currently serves as the Senior Enlisted Aide, U.S, Southern Command.
He is married to the Aquila Bernard and is the Secretary for The Battle Buddy System, Inc. His love for the military and has owned his own catering company, Cater2U, gives him the knowledge and capability to be the perfect Secretary for the Battle Buddy System, Inc.
